About Qasr Kharana

Qasr Kharana is one of the most striking desert castles of Jordan, located in the eastern desert near the Saudi border. Built in the early 8th century during the Umayyad period, it reflects a blend of Islamic and late Roman architectural influences. Its true purpose remains debated, as it lacks defensive features, suggesting it may have served as a meeting lodge, caravanserai, or administrative center.
