About Madaba

Madaba is known as the 'City of Mosaics,' with an extensive history dating back to the Bronze Age. It is famous for the Madaba Mosaic Map, the oldest surviving original cartographic depiction of the Holy Land and Jerusalem, dating to the 6th century AD. The map is housed in the Church of Saint George.
